DRIVER
TRAINING
All
our drivers have participated in and successfully
completed the intensive IMG Driver Safety Training
Program. They have been trained and many certified
in the areas of customer service, the safe
and efficient operation of a motor coach, mechanics
of the motor coach, and the Department of Transportation’s
Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.
Our drivers are professionals. They are Young
Transportation. Their training and knowledge
ensure our customers that they will have the
safest and most pleasurable of experiences while
on our motor coaches, on their charters and tours.
Gaining
our customer’s complete confidence
in our ability to serve and continue to serve
as well as meeting and exceeding their transportation
needs and expectations is the ultimate goal
of our drivers and our company as a whole.
NEW DRIVERS
- 40
hours of classroom instruction that covers
the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations,
North Carolina Commercial Driver’s Licensing
instruction, IMG Driver Safety Training and Young
Transportation’s Customer Service training.
- 10 hours of the mechanics of the motor coach
training.
- 20
hours of pre-trip/post-trip, maneuvering
skills, and ADA training.
- 30
hours of ‘on road’ driver training.
 
REFRESHER TRAINING
- On a monthly basis, all drivers undergo
refresher training. Topics cover all aspects
of driving, from general safety to mechanical
troubleshooting, to overall awareness of industry
issues and regulatory updates to discovering
better means through which to exceed customer
expectations and achieve goals set forth by
ourselves.
REMEDIAL TRAINING
- We
all make mistakes. Remedial training offers
our drivers who do the opportunity to relearn
and readjust to ensure mistakes of the past
don’t
happen again. Constructive in nature, the training
focuses on the positive in a ‘one-on-one’ format
tailored to meet the driver’s individual
needs.
ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS
We
have a team of two full-time lead trainers
and three part-time assistant
trainers with
over 60 years of combined years of driving and
training/educational
experience. They provide Young Transportation’s
drivers with the skills and knowledge necessary
to become professional motor coach drivers
and leaders in the motor coach industry. Our
trainers
strive to motivate our drivers to not only
meet expectations but to exceed them, to strive
to
continually improve and better themselves professionally
and personally.
